Can People Change?

Sitting on a bed, knife in hand

Blood running down your side

Thoughts drift back to when all you wanted was sand

When you got angry, all you did was hide

Those days were the best

Just standing in the field

Rain on your back, sun on your chest

Waiting for your fruit to be peeled

You truly miss those days

When people still loved and cared for you

Those thoughts fade in a haze

When you realise there is a monster inside you

Too cold hearted to care

Too angry to love

Go out, see a group of people, give them a dare

Then rip off the head of a dove

You have such a thirst for blood

Nothing else will quench the thirst

In your dreams, you see blood flow in a flood

As one by one hearts begin to burst

When you think about the problems in your heart

Your hands begin to shake

It feels like your world is falling apart

Like you are caught in an earthquake

You want to change who you are

But you don't know how to change

You look up and wish upon the brightest star

You soon begin to feel tired and strange

You go to sleep with just one hope

That you will be a changed man

And see life through a different scope

And enjoy life the best you can
