Addiction's Purest Cure

Updated: Feb 5, 2022

As hours fly within days that go by

The self-inflicted pain we cause

Could almost be felt by all who ask why

The torture that flows out that one phone call exposes all flaws

The pressure to pretend will never leave without a friend

But most friends only ever exist to do nothing but mock

For a stone cold heart will never be able to mend

With every passing point hidden beneath the deepest shock

Creating the problems of an emotional uproar

A light emitting a pure shine so bright

A craving so deep and wild but the only thing encountered is a locked door

Trying to survive while putting up an emotional fight

No amount of right could rectify any of the ever forming wrong

Sitting in the dark trying to hide, a hero is needed who is truly pure

Regardless of using unblinking sight nothing can be seen through any song

A miracle is needed to help in this quest to find the addictions purest cure.
